Comprehensive first aid for workplace environments — ideal for supervisors, managers, and anyone in a higher-risk role. Covers the full range of workplace emergencies including severe wounds, fractures, head and spinal injuries, and AED use.

What BC WorkSafeBC Requires for Food Service

The BC Workers Compensation Act and WorkSafeBC Regulation mandate first aid coverage for all food service operations. Non-compliance can result in stop-work orders, fines, and significant legal liability for restaurant owners and operators.

⚡ WorkSafeBC First Aid Requirements

At least one certified first aider must be on duty whenever food service workers are present on site.

First aid certificates are valid for 3 years and must be renewed before expiry to maintain compliance.

Standard First Aid is required for restaurants with 5 or more workers and any elevated-risk food preparation environment.

WorkSafeBC health inspectors can issue fines and closure orders for non-compliance during inspections.
