CPR/AED Level C - In Person

The Canadian Red Cross CPR/AED Level C course is an in-person CPR certification course designed to teach participants how to recognize and respond to cardiac, breathing and choking emergencies involving adults, children and babies.
This course provides practical, hands-on training in CPR, choking response and the use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). Participants learn how to recognize life-threatening emergencies and provide immediate assistance until Emergency Medical Services (EMS) arrive.
CPR/AED Level C provides more comprehensive CPR training than CPR Level A because it includes CPR and choking procedures for adults, children and babies.
Duration
CPR/AED Level C: 5 hours in class
This is a fully in-person, instructor-led and hands-on course that includes CPR practice, AED training, choking response and emergency scenarios.
Prerequisites
There are no prerequisites to take CPR/AED Level C.
Completion Requirements
To successfully complete the course and receive certification, participants must:
Attend and participate in 100% of the in-person course
Successfully demonstrate all required CPR, AED and emergency response skills
Successfully demonstrate all required critical steps
Demonstrate an understanding of how to respond to emergencies involving adults, children and babies
Achieve a minimum grade of 75% on the written knowledge evaluation
Certification
Upon successful completion, participants receive an official Canadian Red Cross CPR/AED Level C certification, valid for 3 years.
The certificate is registered through the Canadian Red Cross certification system and issued electronically to the participant following successful completion of the course.
Recertification
Participants who hold an eligible and valid CPR/AED Level C certification may renew their certification by completing the CPR/AED Level C Recertification course.
CPR/AED Level C Recertification: 3.5 hours in class
Participants must meet current Canadian Red Cross eligibility requirements for recertification.

CPR/AED Level C in British Columbia
CPR/AED Level C is commonly requested by employers, schools, colleges, health care programs, child care programs, recreation programs and other organizations throughout British Columbia.
Participants who require certification for a specific job, school program or professional requirement should confirm which level of CPR or First Aid certification is required.
CPR/AED Level C is a CPR certification and should not be confused with Basic First Aid or Intermediate First Aid certification. If a workplace requires an employee to serve as a designated workplace First Aid Attendant in British Columbia, the employer must determine the appropriate First Aid certification level based on its WorkSafeBC workplace First Aid assessment.
